What Does Numbness In The Little Finger Indicate?

Yesterday my left pinkie felt numb at the tip which I thought was from a bad sleep position of elderly traits, when I looked at it about 3pm it was blackish in the section between the bend in the tip to the fold of the knuckle, the nailbed was white. I started to go to urgent care, but it went away. Today the same happened, I noticed it at about 3pm after an active, walking day, now it seems to be going away. I take only 3 meds, lead an active life, ex etc, have no cronic illnesses, no HBP,diabetes etc. Statins, celexa

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

We will try to help you in the best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, you need to get it reviewed for any signs of Raynaud's phenomenon or coagulopathy or blood clotting in the vessels of hand.

Doppler ultrasound may be helpful alongside d dimers and fibrinogen. Long-term calcium channel blockers may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
