What Does Osteoporosis With Lower Back Pain Suggest?
I have osteoporosis and am having severe pain in my lower back running down both legs. I am feeling numbness in my toes on right foot. I have gone to my cardiologist who assures me my circulation is good. my blood pressure tends to run high even though I am on Lisinopril 20 mg,twice a day. Lately my pain is getting worse. I have done walkng exercises and that helps but is something else going on?
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Osteoporosis leads to weak bones and hence possible bone pains, maybe secondary to compression fractures. 2. Decreased space in between vertebrae can compress on nerves leading to severe pain in legs. 3. Get an x-ray of the lumbar region done. You will require lumbar support along with medical treatment for osteoporosis. Based on neural compression, it appears to be severe, and urgent therapy is necessary to avoid further bone osteoporosis. Improve your diet with Vit D and calcium supplements. Back exercises will improve in strengthening muscle. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
Dear Sir/Madam, I thank you for having faith in Health Care magic and for seeking help on your issue; I have gone through your symptoms, if a patient with complains similar to you come to my clinic I would advise, to get an X ray done and if required a MRI scan, see the pain you are having is not because of circulation, but its probably because of nerve compression at the vertebra level. I hope I have been able to provide you with a satisfactory solution, if you want to clear any doubts about my opinion, feel free to contact. Special note- Any medication prescribed needs to be taken after consultation with your personal doctor only. Thanks Dr. Narender Saini
