What Does Pain And Burning Sensation In The Left Upper Thigh Indicate?

I have had a pain in my left upper thigh (right thigh ok). Kind of a tingly, burning type sensation. Feels almost like bad bruise to the touch. Sometimes worse than others. Does not stop me from exercise or anything, just feels like something with nerves or something? No muscle pull or blunt trauma to area, just started to happen

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

According to history provided you are having pain in the upper thigh and you have no history of trauma. So neurological pain should be ruled out here and for that your neurological examination should be done. if nerve compression is suspected then spinal x-ray can be done for that. Vascular courses also should be ruled out by colour Doppler ultrasonography. Check your serum B12 and random sugar value to rule out vitamin B12 deficiency and diabetes. Consult physician for examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
