INJURY, surgery or poor circulation, and it can indicate the presence of life-threatening
blood clots in the deep veins, so seek an opinion of vascular surgeon or visit an ER and ask for doppler study
2. If the examination done by vascular surgeon comes normal, get a
second opinion from an orthopedic surgeon regarding X-ray of Ankle for
fracture or torn ligaments [if any].
PS. As pain is still there, it denotes that either ankle has not healed properly or was not rehabilitated properly. [furthter workup is essential with physical therapist, doctor/podiatrist]
3. If the injury is severe then a medical referral is essential and later to a sports therapist for proper evaluation of running/jumping and footwear and strengthening exercises.
