Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m having pain in my left breast area that also is in my neck and arm. I have shortness of breath. It hurts more and tightens when I take a deep breath. I m feeling very tired and it also feels like it s affecting my left eye. I ve been to the ER and test results are normal. EKG, X-RAY, blood work all ok. Could this be a blood clot?
The fact that the examinations (ECG, Xray and blood tests) come out normal and the fact that it is a sharp pain worse on breathing and that it spreads in your neck and arm might indicate this to be a muscular pain and not related to a clot in the heart.
When a clot happens in the heart, the patient has what we call ischemic heart disease and in this case, he develops a heaviness and tightness in the chest that is not affected by movement or breathing.
You might benefit seeing a physiotherapist to help you with some exercises to relax the chest muscles and also if the pain lasts long you might benefit from some treatment of anxiety as well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
