What Does Pain Around The Ribcage On The Left Side Indicate?

I have had pain in my stomach area for almost 2 years now. I had a colonoscopy last April and everything was fine. He did mention that I had a hernia, but didn t seemed concerned. The pain and discomfort has gotten worse . I m pretty much in pain from the left rib cage to the right one. Could this be the hernia or possibly something else. Thank you

Hello,

As per your clinical history, is concerned please follow like this-
1) Do a clinical examination by your doctor [rheumatologist] and do MRI scan to rule out other pathological disorders.
2) Do take over-the-counter (OTC) painkiller [ibuprofen] with any PPI.
3) Consult with your physio for a specific exercise plan.
Do follow lifestyle modifications like this-
1) Try placing hot compresses or a heating pad on the painful area several times a day. Keep the heat on a low setting. Ice also might be helpful.
2) Take rest and try to avoid activities that make your pain worse.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
