What Does Pain Behind The Left Knee Indicate?

I have a great deal of pain on the outer side of the back of my left knee and it is worse after sitting. I have some pain in the front as well. I don t play sports so I m fairly certain I don t have a torn ACL. The pain in the back of the knee sometimes drifts down to my calf. I m in a great deal of pain and pain relievers, icing, and heating do not help. I m turning 63 next week and I can t afford the $1200-1400 per month for health insurance but I do have catastrophic for $350 per month. Any suggestions are appreciated. I m wearing a brace to support the knee and this helps just a little. Thanks, Sandy.

Hello,

It is may be a case of osteoarthritis knee, wear knee braces, go for an x-ray knee AP, LAT view and use analgesic drugs like Ibuprofen, Diclofenac with combination with paracetamol if needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
