What Does Pain Behind The Legs Indicate?

I was in the severe flood in Houston in September and believe I strained my legs somhow in surviving, carrying heavy boxes and furniture. I have pain in the back of my legs, much worse in right and just a little bit in the the left one if I do too much. I am better off walking a little, am worse when I wake up in the am. If I walk too far in a day I am worse the next day. Am self-medicating with naprosyn sodium (probably taking too much but it works), I think I may have tendonitis.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You can have injury to ligament, muscle tendon or muscle strain. Local part USG or x ray is advisable for further work up. If chronic ligament injury present than repair is needed. Until than non steroid antinflammatory drug can be prescribed. Consult orthopedic surgeon for examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
