What Does Pain From The Lower Abdomen To The Upper Leg Indicate?

I have pain in my lower left hand side of my abdomen and sometimes a sharp pain radiating a into the top of my left leg. My doctor suggested it may be endometriosis. I have taken Cerazette (contraceptive) since my 2nd child was born (2012) with no bleeding. I experimented at the beginning of the year by coming off Cerazette for 4 months, I had a regular normal period and no lower abdomen pain. I’ve since gone back on to Cerazette and the pain has returned intensely, also acne and I’ve been feeling quite low. I feel like the pain and reasons I went to the doctor originally have returned making me feel like maybe I do have something like endometriosis, however this all went away when I stopped taking Cerazette?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You may be having endometriosis as suggested by your doctor. But simultaneously you may be having side effects of cerazette. You consult your doctor and discuss if the medication has to be changed and some alternative medication has to be given. Some of the side effect of cerazette include: 1. Edema (swelling); 2. Abdominal bloating; 3. Anxiety, Irritability, Depression; 4. Muscle pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr Sanjay Kini
