General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

For lumber spondilytis, post operative physiotherapy and spinal exercises as per doctor's advise are need for long-term relief.

You have pain when the vertebrae cause pressure on nerve supplying legs-with certain movements only. That's why it is intermittent.

The pain in neck/upper back could be same problem in cervical or thoracic vertebra which could be beginning, so early consultation may prevent further progress.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale
