What Does Pain In The Arm At The Site Of IV Injection Indicate?
I was in hospital and on the sixth day they took out IV in the morning and by the evening the site on my arm was red hard and inflamed and painful. The nurse gave 5 injections and said it was an antidote. It still hurts and feels warm. What could this be?

welcome to HCM, Pain redness and hardness in the iv injection site is a symptom of thrombophlebitis. nothing to worry. you can aaply thrombophob ointment on the inflamed area. you will be getting fine in 2-3 days. hope this finds useful with regards Dr.Amarnath
