What Does Pain In The Ball Of The Foot Indicate?

Thank you-it is sudden extreme pain in the ball of the foot that only happens at night-I ve awakened screaming in pain. It is right in the middle of the 2nd and third toe on the upper ball of the right foot and is worsened by the foot folding inward during sleep. It never happens any other time of the day.

Hello,

You are describing typical symptoms of gout. You need to get examined by an orthopedic once to see if that is gout pain or not.

If you have swollen joints here or elsewhere in your body then it is definite that you might be having gout crystals in the joints spaces which are hurting you.

You need anti-inflammatory medicines that help reduce all your pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
