What Does Pain In The Buttocks During Pregnancy Indicate?
I m 35 weeks pregnant and I ve had pain when I sit on my butt. I can t sit for long because it feels like my butt is burning. It started a day ago. I m a little worried because when I went to the bathroom, my underwear has clear spots that looks like I was leaking from my butt. Is this normal? Or should I call my OBGYN about this?
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service. I reviewed your query and here is advise. I think this situation may be related to hemorrhoids that are swollen blood vessels in anal area. Increased abdominal pressure due to pregnancy can trigger them. Also constipation (another common problem during pregnancy) can also cause or aggravate hemorrhoids because you tend to strain when having a hard bowel movement, and straining leads to hemorrhoids. Discomfort or bleeding from hemorrhoids is also a common complaint. Avoid constipation by having a rich fiber diet. Drink lots of water 8onces. Don't stay sit for too long cause it causes pressure to them. Use cold and hot alternating. keep them clean. Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
