Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have extreme pain in my left buttock/pelvic area. I cannot lift myself from the bed or stand to walk without pain. I recently complained of hair loss and although have no other symptoms I wonder if it could be PID. I have had recurring genutal spots recently but my GP says they are not STD.
Pain in the buttock may be seen with several causes. Common causes of the pain in the buttock include - Muscle strain Muscle injury Soft tissue injury Itching Infections STDs
Muscle strain and injuries can usually managed with icing, massage, warm compresses, and OTC NSAIDs. This can help to reduce the swelling.
Along with this, raising the legs can help to reduce the swelling as well.
In case the symptoms are seen with an infection, getting a blood test and getting an STD test would be useful. This can help to get to the cause. Treating the symptoms with antibiotics may then be useful. Do let me know what the doctor says.
I hope this helps. Please reach out to me if you have any other questions.
