Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My wife has pain in the right anterior rump at about the mid point which increases and deceases on movement. No radiation to other points. When pressed pain increases but no hard points found. Not noticed when sleeping. When rising from a chair slight increase in pain which drops on movement but does not go away. Since before Thanksgiving. Under treatment for Ovarian Cancer since 2004. Unable to find any abnormality that would account for pain localized to this area.
I can understand your wife's pain and discomfort. Pain in buttocks may occur due to a number of causes. Depending upon the nature of pain we can assess the origin of pain. Generally bone pain does not vary with movements. As pain is varying with movements in case of your wife's case, the most probable cause might be muscle pain or nerve pain. Moreover pain is not radiating.
You should exclude other things by some investigations like: 1. x-ray 2. nerve conduction tests
Coming to treatment part, exclude all other causes and you can follow as below: 1. Non steroidal anti inflammatory drug (ibuprofen) 2. diclofenac spray 3. muscle exercises
Hope you would understand all the aspects and act accordingly. No need to worry but act as soon as possible to avoid complications.
