What Does Pain In The Chest Indicate?

SO LAST WEEK THURSDAY I STARTED FEELING SICK COLD/COUGH BY SUNDAY AFTER TAKING OVER THE COUNTER MEDICATION I STARTED FEELING BETTER. SUNDAY AFTERNOON I HAD DINNER AND STRATED EXPERIENCING CHEST PAIN IN THE CENTER OF MY CHEST BETWEEN MY BREAST BY MY HEART. SO THE PAIN ONLY HAPPENS WHEN IM WALKING. NOT WHEN IM SITTING NOR LAYING IN BED. ONLY WHEN WALKING.NOW I WENT TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM ON TUESDAY, THEY TOOK EKG AND BLOOD WORK AND X RAY. AND ALL RESULTS CAME IN NORMAL.THEY SAID MOST LIKELY IT IS ACID REFLUX BUT IM NOT CONVINCED. ANY SUGGESTIONS OF WHAT CAN BE

Hello. Thanks for asking on Healthcaremagic. A chest pain in the middle of the chest could be due to cardiac, pulmonary or gastrointestinal causes. Since your ecg and chest x Ray are normal it most likely will be due to gastritis. It could be that gastritis might be precipitated by the otc medications taken for the cold and flu some days back. Better to take an antacid for few days and see if the problem resolves. Thanks.
