What Does Pain In The Groin Area On The Right Side Indicate?

I am a 65 retired nurse employed for a non profit organization that requires heavy lifting and 10 to 12 hour days much on concrete. For 2 wks now I have been having pain in my Rt groin area that feels deep and radiates up to my hip joint around to my lower rt back upon walking or sitting more sever at times. Bowel habits have changed. Feels like pressure in the vagina and rectum. I am thinking rectocele. I get some relief after bowels movements but still pressure. How concerned should I be and are there any exercises or conservative treatments other than surgery. Could this be something else. Have not seen Dr.

Hello,

Yes, rectocele is likely, but for that, we need to examine you once to know any another hernia
you have in your body. Kindly, rethink of doing the work with heavy lifting, because you are at great risk of a hernia, and rectocele.

It gets difficult to treat medically because once it bulges out it had to be fixed or you will only suffer. Kindly stop doing lifting weight and do Kegels exercise. Those are an exercise of the perineum.

You can talk to a surgeon about it and will teach you those exercises better. But there is no way out than surgery for permanent relief if it is rectocele.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
