What Does Pain In The Knees And Joints Indicate?

I have leg pain mostly above my knees, in my joints and thighs. It usually happens at night when I m trying to sleep on my sides. If I lay flat on my back it will go away for awhile. It is severe enough that it wakes me up and I can t get back to sleep. It does happen during the day also, but I notice it more at night. Any suggestions?

Hello,

Maybe, if you turn to the side, your sciatic nerve is getting impinged and causing pain. If you have any pathology of the hip joint or any muscle spasm at that time, then also these symptoms come.

So first, I would recommend a general examination of your leg which is not possible with this online consultation. If we could find out what is the pathology, then treatment becomes simple.

For nerve pain, vitamin B12 tablets can be given. For joint pains, anti-inflammatory drugs, for spasms painkillers also can be given. So, it is better you go to orthopedic for sorting out your problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
