What Does Pain In The Left Arm And Armpit Indicate?

HI. I have a pinching pain in my left arm under side of the arm & just outside of the armpit. It pinches & pain becomes severe. It causes my arm to stiffen- I can t move it & tingling, kinda numbness, down my arm. It was happening it seemed like after I lifted or shoveled. It takes about 10 minutes for the pain to go. But in the last 2 days it has happened more. maybe a pinched nerve? .

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Tingling in the left arm may be due to neuropathy or herpes infection or cardiovascular diasease or cervical spondylosis or axillary nerve palsy, etcetera.

Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is.

Please consult your neurophysician who will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
