Hello,
1. Tenderness on undersurface or medial aspect of calcaneus can be
Plantar fasciitis, the common cause of heel pain.
2. Check with an Orthopedic Surgeon for examination, for
- X-ray heel (lateral view)
- L.H.C. injection into plantar fascial insertion.
- If no relief, plantar fasciotomy.
Heel pain may also be due to other causes, such as a
stress fracture,
tendonitis, arthritis,
nerve irritation or, rarely, a cyst, until then
- Foment 2 times/day with hot water in the tub.
- Apply any Rubefacient or NSAID ointment.
- A good painkiller (
diclofenac) with Analgesic.
- Low dose steroid in the acute stage with an antacid.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Munish Sood
