General Surgeon 's  Response
During yoga, while stretching and bending the knee, it is possible that you have strained a ligament, or even injured a meniscus. An MRI examination of the knee can diagnose the problem. However, the initial and best treatment is to avoid yoga and give rest to the knee as much as is possible till complete resolution of the pain. A ligament injury may take about 3 weeks to heal. If possible you can wear a good knee brace which will prevent movement at the joint and help in healing of the ligament or injured meniscus.
