What Does Pain In The Left Leg Indicate?

I heard a pop and felt a sudden pain in my left leg just below my knee area towards the calf - more on the outside of this area. I can t put weight on it (bending or going up or down stairs) without pain. Seems to be better if I walk on flat ground. Any bending or pressure of bending the knee hurts!! not the knee but down and to the outside of the back side of the knee.

General Surgeon 's  Response
In all probability you have injured muscle fibers of the left calf. It is possible that a few muscle fibers have torn. That is the reason you are unable to put weight on the left leg, or climb stairs. The best management is to rest the left leg as much as is possible and avoid weight bearing on the leg. The muscle fibers will heal depending on the degree of injury, from a period of 3 to 6 weeks or so. Please do not do any vigorous massage, as it can aggravate the injury.
