Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have developed pain in the quadriceps area of my left leg. Considerable pain when I try to move my leg in a forward motion. ( I am taking neproxen 500 mg 2 times per day for another condition) I was on my feet from 8 am until 8 pm (length of time first time in several years) this past Monday, Aug. 21,2017. Started feeling the pain toward the evening. I have been icing it and resting it several hours a day Tuesday & Wed. What is advisable at this point in time and how do you wrap a thigh? Also I need to be on the road driving quite a bit for the next several days, anything I could do to lessen the pain? Anything I should do while sitting for long periods of time?
It may be a simple muscular pain or sometimes mild varicose veins can also cause similar symptoms. You can take analgesics like Ibuprofen or Tramadol for pain relief. If symptoms persist, you can go for an ultrasound Doppler to rule out minor varicose vein and can consult a surgeon for further evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
