What Does Pain In The Left Leg Indicate?

This morning I had sudden pain in my left leg when walking across the room. Since then, there is pain in the calf and top of the foot. I can walk, but it is painful. Range of motion seems ok. I take tramadol for stenosis, but it doesn t seem to do anything for this additional pain. I ve used heating pads on the areas. Will this go away on its own, or do I need to see a doctor? If so, what specialty? Thank you
