Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am experiencing pain in my left shoulder and inhibited range of motion. (Raising my arm laterally hurts, pushing forward hurts & moving my arm back to stretch my front deltoid hurts.) Sometimes I feel an ache in my biceps & triceps and also my left hand. At first I thought I just worked out to hard, but it has been going on for a month now. It does not feel like muscle soreness that would eventually go away with resting the muscles. I havet cut out doing weights & yoga to rest it. It does not feel like it is getting better. I also feel muscle tightness in my neck on the left side. It feels like it might all be connected. I have taken Advil alone and also Advil & regular strength Tylenol together. It will occasionally take the edge off but never alleviate the pain. Looking for your advice.
After going through your history of illness. it's the problem in your neck which is causing all your symptoms. however neck problem along with should may also be present which can only be ruled out by taking xrays of neck and shoulder both. The nerves to upperlimbs starts in neck and run along shoulder till hand. any compression in neck of these nerves will lead to radiating pain along the lines of nerve and the muscles supplied by it. as you have left side neck pain along with lef5 upper limb pain it's most likely a compression of the nerve. which can be ruled out with radiological examination like xrays and MRI. And xray of shoulder to rule out concominant shoulder issue. You better get consulted to a nearby orthopaedician to get exact picture which would yield results only after examining you.
I hope this solves your query. please keep me informed what happened Thank you. happy recovery .
