What Does Pain In The Legs And Knees Indicate?

My daughter is 7 years old. She had both knee and legs pain (only front) in 5-30 minutes after lay down bed 8/13/2017--8/23/2017. The pain was on and go, last 5--10 minutes each time. She struggled for 2-3 hours every night to sleep. There was no pain from 8/24—8/31/2017. From 9/1/2017, my daughter has right knee and leg pain every night right after bed. From 9/15/2015, she also has right knee and leg pain 6:30---7:00am. The pain wakes her up and last 10—30 minutes every morning. There is no pain on left knee and leg since 9/1/2017. The pain is punch/sting pain and in front or knee and leg, no swelling. We already see rheumatologist, orthopedic and other specialists. The blood work, brain and knee MRI are normal. She hasn’t been diagnosed. My daughter started taking 1mg Melatonin 10/16/2017 before bed every night. She will fall sleep in about 10 minutes after bed, and did not have pain at night. But she still has right knee and leg pain in the morning and pain wake her up. She had knee pain after laydown on bed when she didn’t take melatonin this weekend. Does Melatonin have side effect on my daughter? Which kind of specialist or test should my daughter see or take? Is her pain growing pain? Any suggestions on treat my daughter’s daily pain? Thanks, Bintuan Zhu

It happens when they're young children and pre-teens, right around the time of their growth spurts. It usually makes their legs ache, mostly in their thighs, calves, or in the back of the knees.
