Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband has been having pain that goes from the bottom of his foot to mid thigh , at times unbearable to walk . At times he gets an ease if he walks on the tips of his toes , rt foot / leg only . He has tried icy hot & a copper knee sleeve , no real relief .
(1) It may be related to muscle cramp (2) Maybe due to other injury to the muscle or related soft tissues (3) Maybe nerve related- neuralgia (4) Maybe related to the circulation in the area
If there is no history of trauma or increased activity then injury is not likely. If the pain feels like a cramp, taking a small amount of salt and using fluids would help. Would also need to try and move around though painful.
Using anti-inflammatory painkiller if he can use these medicines, would also help, example, Naproxen, Ibuprofen and Cataflam. If there is no relief or the pain worsens, then he should see his doctor for assessment and treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
