What Does Pain In The Lower Back On The Right Side Indicate?

For the past week I get a dull ache in my right lower back and around to my side when I begin to urinate. I drink over 64 oz of water a day and urinate frequently. I do not have a fever or feel ill except for a headache for the past two days. Should I be concerned? Beverly.

Hello.

I have gone through your complaints. Ideally in females with similar symptoms I would think of Urinary Tract Infection. And advice a urine examination to rule out the condition.
Alternatively I would next think of kidney stones
Not to worry much.
I usually advice my patients to increase fluid intake to as much as they can this will help in case of UTI(which is due to inadequate water intake)and stones(fluid hydrotherapy) as it flushes out bacteria and small stones.

I find this answer helpful
