Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have no pain in the area where my neck/throat area meets my breast bone. However a couple of times I ve touched it and it is quite painful. What could cause this? Should I get it check out by my GP? Thank you Helen
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. You are having tenderness (pain on touching) in anterior chest wall. It is mostly due to musculoskeletal pain. So apply warm water pad and ice packs alternatively. Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise. Avoid movements causing pain. Take simple painkiller like paracetamol or ibuprofen. You will mostly improve with all these in 1 week. If not improving in 1 week then consult doctor. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
