What Does Pain In The Ribcage On The Left Side Indicate?

I am a very healthy adult in very good shape. For the past week I have had a pain in my ribcage on the left side when lying down and it moves to the front with standing. I have not had any nausea , vomiting or constipation. I exercise regularly with no problem. The pain is not so bad that I have to take anything for it.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is possible that it may be muscle related pain since it can vary with position.

If it was related to one of the abdominal organs then there would be additional symptoms. Since it is not severe, you can consider monitoring for now.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Chandra Shekhar
