What Does Pain In The Ribcage On The Left Side Indicate?

Hey. I started to have pains on my left side (rib cage) Monday it like started all of a sudden. Well it’s still happening but it’s moved to the center of my stomach like between my rib cages and pain relievers don’t relieve it. I also had blood when I wiped from taking a bowel movement. The pain feels like it’s burning or inflamed and a knife stabbing. The pain is always on and off again. I’m also passing gas a lot more frequently but it really doesn’t seem to ease the pain off.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

At first instance, chest pain in your case seems to be a Gas formation in the stomach due to Hyperacidity. For that drink bubbling beverages like plain soda or ENO water.

Start capsule Omeprazole empty stomach and avoid spicy and oily foods to prevent Hyperacidity. You should consult a cardiologist to rule out other cardiac related chest pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Hiren Hirpara
