What Does Pain In The Ribcage On The Right Side Indicate?

Hello After having quit drinking for over 25 years I started again a couple years ago.I would consider my usage over the last year to be abusive, binge drinking. Also at times drinking 4 or more, occasionally many more. The las t week I have a dull low grade pain in my right front side just below my rib-cage. is it likely I have an enlarged liver? I have quit drinking, I don t seem to be physically addicted, but moderately psychologically. are there any dietary things I can do to heal my liver and how long would you recommend stopping drinking. I have already come to the conclusion I cannot be a regular drinker, but hope to on occasion responsibly use in periodic social functions. Thanks, Bill O.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you have hepatic cirrhosis due to alcohol consumption. It can’t be healed but you have to quit drinking to stop further damage. Talk to your doctor to prevent complications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgea Xhufka
