What Does Pain In The Right Hand Indicate?

Hi, I am currently experiencing pain in my right hand. It begins along side my inside of my wrist and radiates to my thumb. There is pain in my hand and am unable to completely make a fist. There is localized tenderness in that spot on the edge of my wrist and also on the top of my arm in one spot. This just began on Sunday morning I woke up with pain and unable to make a fist. It has hurt continuously since then. What could be the cause of this issue?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

It can be ligament or mauscle strain like condition. If any history of trauma, tingling present then mention it. Local joint digital x ray is also advisable for your case. I suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for examination and accordigly further management.

Hope I have answered your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
