Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having calf pain issues with my right leg, which I believe maybe coming from my siatica nerve. I have been taking a muscle relaxer, anti- inflammatory, and ibruprovin. I m also doing exercises pertinent to these causes. I have been experiencing this for over a week. Any suggestions?
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can. Yes, such symptoms are mostly caused by neuropathy which include sciatica as well However, if there wont be improvement on nonsteroid painkillers then it would be good to consider some other issues such as circulatory disorder which are common and there may be present atherosclerosis that obstructs blood vessels and causes pain and blisters to form. You should do Doppler ultrasound of the leg or CT angiography to rule out such obstructive changes and then it can be treated properly by medications or by surgical and radiological procedures. ALso, you should have Aspirine 100mg and have elastic stockings applied, and should avoid cold environment and long walks. In most cases it can be managed with medications.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
