Several years ago in 2013 I fell in office I where I was working and hurt my right shoulder/arm-at that time I couldn t even lift a blowdryer to dry my hair. After a few months, I was back to normal but now I am experiencing similar pain when I lift my arm or try to lift anything heavy. I use Aleve for pain an it helps somewhat but really hurts without it. I stopped using a shoulder bag purse. I have had a habit of using my shoulder to carry bags of groceries and things like that. I do Jazzercise and stopped using a 3 lb weight the last two weeks. I just can t figure out what is going on with my right arm?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Maybe you have frozen shoulder. Yes if there was any previous rotator cuff injury, tendonitis of these muscles would have happened and partial spasm would have led to this condition. Along with decreased range of movement. Kindly get a steroid shot in the shoulder joint and range of movement correction under local or general anesthesia. This will give you some relief.
Hope this information helps you sort out your problems. If you feel its helpful kindly give me user thanks vote. Happy health! Regards, Dr. Archana
