What Does Pain In The Shoulder Blade On The Right Side Indicate?
Hi, I have a pain close to my shoulder blade on right side that I ve had for at least a month. I first thought it was a pulled muscle but it isn t going away. It will start burning and painful, and then if I push on it by leaning on something it seems to help relieve it for a few minutes.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You need to go to the nearest medical center, especially if there is a history of trauma, for complete clinical assessment, X-ray of the shoulder joint as well as other routine tests depending on the initial findings. After all, your doctor may suggest:
1- Rest your shoulder, by avoiding extreme physical activity such as weightlifting.
2- Prescribe analgesics such as Ibuprofen and topical drugs such as Diclofenac.
3- Muscle strengthening and stretching exercise program.
4- Muscle relaxants.
5- Steroid injections in severe arthritis of the shoulder joint.
I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Take care.
