What Does Pain In The Shoulders And Ribcage Indicate?

I fell down some stairs last night around 8-9ish. i just ran too fast and slipped onto my butt the rest of the way down. Hurt, not too serious. The next day I was ok until around 2:00p.m. where I started feeling some shoulder and rib/abdomen pain. I was wondering why this was because it’s really sore now and I didn’t hurt anything else but my butt and my back, sort of.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Though there seems no possible direct injury to rib cage &shoulder The pain you have could be because of the thrust on the parts as you fell down.
Considering the severity of fall... you deserve a full mefical check up by your family physician to
exclude any fracture by unnoticed hit to any of the body parts/deep wound/soft tissue injury. & have specific treatment.
Till then .. cold packing, avoiding movements of affected parts&pain pills over the counter can offer some relief.
Thanks.
