What Does Pain In The Soles Of The Feet Indicate?

Bottoms of feet hurt when standing or walking, but pain increases the longer I m on my feet. After 5 hours becomes unbearable. Only the portions that contact the ground hurt (Not the arch). Hard surfaces without shoes is not good. Burning, tingling, and aching are symptoms. Feel bruised but are not.

Hello,

You may be suffering from Plantar fasciitis, characterized by main symptoms heel pain, foot pain, stiffness, and tenderness. Pain may aggravate by prolonged standing or early morning walks.

Treat by measures that decrease the associated inflammation and avoid re-injury. Local ice massage applications both reduce pain and inflammation. Physical therapy methods, including stretching exercises, are used to treat and prevent plantar fasciitis.

Anti-inflammatory medications, such as ibuprofen or cortisone injections, are often helpful. Sports running shoes with soft, cushioned soles can be helpful in reducing irritation of inflamed tissues from plantar fasciitis.

If symptoms not improved, then please consult your orthopedician so that he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
