What Does Pain In The Testicles Indicate?

I have had testicular pain for the last 6 months. It is a constant dull pain that is worse in the evenings and mornings. In late July, I had a chlamydia and gonorrhea test which came back negative. I was prescribed methylphenidate HCl 10 MG tablet twice a day for 15 days on may 5. My testicular pain continued and I was prescribed Meloxicam for two months. The pain decreased when I was on the antibiotics and the meloxicam. However, when I was off both there pain continued. Next I received an ultrasound on my testicles which came back normal. On October 20, I took another chlamydia and gonorrhea test which was also negative. The pain continued and I was prescribed another antibiotic (don’t know the name) on the 3rd of December that I took for 30 days twice a day. Still the pain continued. Two days ago I took another chlamydia and gonorrhea test which was also negative. My doctor is not sure what is going on and neither do I. I’m worried that I am just getting false negatives because I had a false negative for chlamydia 3 years ago, I know it was false b/c my c.f. got tested and she was positive and she had discolored vaginal discharge. I’m worried that I might have an std even though if been told I’m fine. My gf has been a little more leaky the last month and a half , though the leakage is not discolored, and the last month she has been experiencing a small amount of pain during intercourse. Also, one time about a month ago he had brown vaginal discharge, but only once. She has not been tested or treated for std in the last 3 years. What do you think? Should I be worried about an std?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I suggest that you immediately get your partner tested for STD's (if she is experiencing pain during sex it could indicate a Pelvic Inflammatory Disease).
Consult her Gynaecologist immediately for this. Especially mention all menstrual, urinary symptoms, any fever, any discharging material and the pain during sex.

Ultrasound on your testis should be repeated once more to rule out any other cause of testicular pain. Testicular biopsy sample could also be taken to rule out any infection (post ultrasound) and this will also help to rule out any testicular cancer (although this is very rare possibility).

Most likely based on your symptoms I would think it’s an STD (test for syphilis should also be done as I noticed you said chlamydia and gonorrhea have only been tested).

What I suggest is going to a Urologist and get a full check-up done before any underlying disease can progress/worsen.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Dr. Ankit Gopinath
