Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does Pain In The Upper Abdomen And Vomiting Indicate?
My wife (60 yrs old) has upper abdominal pain (feels like it is burning), has vomited, but not in the last few hours, 101.7 temperature and the chills (her hands shake when holding a cup.) The discomfort in the abdominal area started early this morning, followed by vomiting a few hours later.
It may be due to stomach infection or hyperacidity. In such a case I may suggest use of antibiotics like Ciprofloxacin with Tinidazole along with antacids like omeprazole. Along with it maintain adequate hydration.
If symptoms persists then consult your doctor for detailed physical examination depending upon it further evaluation may be suggested like Complete Blood Count. Renal Function Test. Liver Function Test Urine examination Ultrasonography of abdomen and pelvis.
Hope this helps.
