Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My stomach hurts. It is high between the Breasts. I am burbing a lot, which I never do. I have taken tums but not much relief. The pain is not every day but every other day or so and hours after I have eat. It stops after a few hours and rest. Thank you
After going through your query I understand your concern.
I would like to tell you that predominantly your symptoms epigastric pain with burping are suggest of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease ( Acid Reflux Disease ). Some foods and drinks can also cause stomachache and burping, including foods high in starch, sugar, or fiber. Indigestion or heartburn may also lead to temporary abdominal pain and burping.
Kindly take over the counter antacid like Zantec or Prilosec etc. If you don't get relief then consult a Gastroentrologist for further evaluation of gastric conditions like gastric and duodenal ulcers, gallstones, hiatal hernia, acute pancreatitis.
Hope to have been helpful.
Kind Regards Dr. Navneet Bansal
