Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My wife has been having moderate pain across the top of her stomach that sometimes she feels in her back. Also, she has bloating constantly and has trouble moving her bowels and has been vomiting her meals at the end of the day for the past two days. This also has been occurring occasionally once or twice a week over the last several months. She has had a hydoscan and gall bladder checked out fine last week. Blood work is okay also. Her stomach when bloated at its worse is hard like a rock. Frustrated and looking for answers.
The pain is probably from the stomach possibly because of ulcers. I just would like to know, if the pain settles with acid suppressive drugs. If yes it would favor that the pain is from the stomach . We generally advise such people to use drugs for acid suppression for some time and avoid spicy foods and painkiller. If that works, you can also use some over the counter antacids for temporary relief. If no improvement with it , or if there is alarming symptoms like:weight loss, or positive family history of stomach cancers then we advise you to do an endoscopy and see the stomach and plan ahead. So I would advise you to see a gastroenterologist , and talk to him with this regards.
Hope I have answered your query.
