I am a very active 81. For about 8 hours I have a pain in my upper left arm which comes And goes. It is not intense but I have never experienced it before. I have no tingling or numbness. I have no heart pain. I have never been in hospital or had any surgery. I have one child now 50. My father died at 52 of a coronary thrombosis. Both my brothers have had open heart surgery and are surviving many years.. one is 75 and the other is 81. my sister died of heart failure at 75.
Hello Your sypmtom does not sound severe and relevant to what you are thinking of. But I would suggest that since you have a very strong family history of ischemic heart disease you should get yourself checked. Other than that make sure that you haven't had any severe exercise or any activity that might be causing a stretch or pull on your arm. If the pain gets severe on activity or you feel extra sweating or chest congestion then you must immediately go to the doctor. Keep yourself healthy. I would be pleased to answer any further queries.
