What Does Pain In The Upper Arms And Shoulders Indicate?
Hello. I had laporosopic surgery to remove my ovaries and ovarian cysts on 1/2/18. the doctor found a lot of abdomonial adhesions and treated them. on 1/20 ibegan to have pain in my upper arms, shoulders, and upper legs. the pain is not going away although it is better in the mornings. doctor said that it was probably viral. It is affecting my mobility significantly. I have no other flu like symptoms at all. iT HAS ONLY BEEN AFEW DAYS BUT THIS PAIN IS SCARING ME. iS THIS TYPICAL AFTER SURGERY?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It's not typical after surgery, but if there is infection during the surgery, it can happen. First of all, the pain just not comes due to infection only.
You don't have any other symptoms like fever, fatigue, abdominal pain, etcetera so I think a short dose of painkillers would suffice. Painkillers like ibuprofen and paracetamol will help you this time.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Archana
