What Does Pain On The Foot Indicate?

I have pain on the top of my foot. I was told I have bone spurs in my heel that have been there awhile. I have been getting no sleep and wakes me out of sleep (usually after 1 a.m.) - I ve tried icing and that hurt, should I try heat? Also, have been on pain meds with no relief.

Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
Your description of pain suggests it's the spurs.. which press on thelocal nerves suplying the affected foot that leads to the pain.
The spurs need to be treated ... please consult an orthopedic surgeon. He will examine you,get your investigations like x ray done &treat you specifically accoeding to site /size of spurs. (It can bewith medicines, miner surgery.)
Thanks.
