What Does Pain On The Left Collar Bone Indicate?

I have a pain about three fingers width down from the center of my left collar bone, the pain area is about the size of a quarter. It comes and goes frequently. Ive had shoulder pain so maybe that is what is affecting this. Some pain also in left shoulder blade. Thank you

I can understand your pain and discomfort.

The most common cause of collar bone pain will be when ligaments surround the bone get strained. As it is attached to the humerus (shoulder joint), pain may extend to humerus.

But it is very important to rule out other causes which can be done by following investigations:
1. x-ray chest
2. ECG
3. CPK, LDH as it was left sided pain (to exclude cardiac involvement)

Coming to treatment part, if all tests are normal you can follow the below things:
1. Non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs
2. ice packing
3. physiotherapy exercises
