What Does Pain On The Left Side Of The Pelvis Indicate?

I started the depo shot Aug. 2016 and had no menstrual cycle. My shot in Nov. 2017 was a month late due to changing jobs/insurance companies, when I received the shot in December I had my period right away. It s gone now but now im feeling a dull throbbing pain that comes and goes every few minutes on the lower left side of my pelvis.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The pelvic pain is not related to depo short. Most often it is non specific and does not signify any disease condition. However get an ultrasound abdomen and pelvis to rule out condition like PID(pelvic inflammatory disease) which can also present like this.Wishing you good health. You can take analgesics like ibuprofen for pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
