What Does Pain Under The Ribcage On The Left Side Indicate?

I’ve been experiencing pain under my left rib cage for a year now. First, i felt it very rarely, 2-3 times a week at most. But now I have pain almost every day, and although it’s not sharp or burning, it causes a lot of discomfort. It all started after some system infection with fever and bad blood samples (high numbers of inflammation), but quite normal urine results (no signs of inflammation or infection), with most organs checked by ultrasound and x-ray and looking fine. Passes several tests for most common infectious diseases, all negative. Several doctors failed to identify the location, saying that may be the case of kidney infection, but urologist didn’t agree and prescribed antibiotics for 10 days. After that, my tests came back normal, but shortly after I started experiencing the pain under my left rib. Please, give me your opinion of what can cause the problem.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Recurrent antibiotics taken disturb normal intestinal flora (lacto bacilli) which causes digestive problems, constipation, loose motions, acidity & bloating of abdomen. Which thrusts under diaphragm & you get pain. H, Pylori infection also causes same symptoms. You need consultation of gastroenterologist for H pylori treatment & digestive aid & supplements of Lactobacillus preparations.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
