What Does Painful Breasts, Missed Periods With Smelly Brown Discharge After Taking Provera Indicate?
I HAD ABNORMAL BLEEDIN AND I WAS PRESCRIBED WITH PROVERA FOR THREE MONTH BUT I TOOK ONLY FOR ONE MONTH I.E I TOOK PROVERA 1 TABLET EVERY 24 HOURS FOR 10 DAYS. IFINISH PROVERA ON THE 6TH DECEMBER 2013. I HAVE BEEN HAVING PAIN IN MY BREAST. THIS MONTH I HAVE NOT GOT MY PERIOD I WAS EXPECTING MY PERIOD ON THE 14TH AND I HAVE A BROWN DISCHARGE THAT SMELLS LIKE ROTTEN EGGS.
Hi, Pain in the breast could be secondary to the progesterone use. If you have had a normal withdrawal bleed after completion of the treatment, pregnancy is unlikely. If you have been sexually active later and did not see your period provided you have been having regular periods prior to this bleeding spree, pregnancy should be contemplated and excluded/confirmed through tests and sonogram. You also need a local exam by a specialist to exclude local causes and locate the origin of the spotting. If pregnancy is excluded, a breakthrough bleed is the possibility. Hope this helps.
