What Does Painful Lump Above The Hairline With Swelling Around Indicate?

about four or five months ago i noticed a non painfull bump about an inch above my hairline. My friend who is a doctor checked it out and said it was a cyst and would go away in a few weeks on its on. I forgot about it for five months untill now, when it is becoming very painful for the last few days. Its swollen all around the small bump. Is it draining? should i be worried? what is it?

Welcome to HCM
I have read and understood your query
Hope it may help
If it was a cyst it could have gone by itself with time.Do you see a point with pus oozing out of it.If yes then you can squeeze it to enhance the drainage and help relieve the pain sooner. But if the pain remains and it does not drain then you may need to see a doctor who may drain it with needle aspiration or incisional drainage.
I will be happy to know if it was helpful. You can approach us anytime with another query
